Kobe Neal-Gateway School Graduate

Kobe Neal is one of our graduates who has been a part of Gateway for over 10 years. Kobe is described by so many as sweet and hard working. Kobe started Gateway when he was just 8 years old and fondly remembers his first teacher Ms. Yock. In her class, he became dedicated to his school work and strived hard to succeed. Over the years, Kobe has become a leader and a role model. “His classmates have come to look up to him and admire him,” said Pat Gutowski, Transition Coordinator.

Kobe also has a talent for music. He really showed off his musical talent in Stemlab, where he created short songs using loops of instruments. These short songs were used in the yearbook video last year. Kobe always came into Stemlab and worked quietly and independently on his music. “He always exceeded my expectations,” said Ms. Casablanca from the Stemlab.

In conversation with Kobe, he expresses that his favorite thing about Gateway is how much everyone cares and is so loving, and how much he is looking forward to working and living a great life. He told us that he feels prepared, but if given the chance to stay one more year he would.

Kobe was given a binder by all his teachers filled with letters of recommendations and his resume. Gateway cannot wait to see what he will accomplish with his many talents. We wish him all the luck in the world. It has been such an honor and pleasure to watch this young man grow over the years.

Congratulations, Kobe Neal!
