Character Education Program - Medal of Honor! - The Gateway School

Character Education Program – Medal of Honor!

Gateway School is proud to introduce a new Character Education Program called MEDAL OF HONOR, coordinated by Supervisor of Instruction, Mr. Kevin Jones.

There are 6 pillars that are taught to students: Courage, Commitment, Integrity, Sacrifice, Citizenship, and Patriotism. Each month the school community will focus on a particular character trait to encourage building on these pillars. In September our trait was COMMITMENT – following through! In October our trait was RESPECT – for ourselves and others!  For November, the focus will be on CITIZENSHIP. Teachers have access to lots of resources/education plans to help teach and encourage students in each trait.

The program is flexible and is adapted to each student’s/classes abilities. Programs like this enhance Gateway’s commitment to developing social/emotional skills in all our students.

Each month our teachers are working hard to be creative and interactive to help develop the important skills and traits all students need. For more information:
