Erika Casablanca— Gateway School Teacher to Lead Marketing Team
Erika Casablanca, Carteret, N.J., has been appointed to lead the marketing team for RKS Associates, Jackson, in addition to her duties as the STEM-lab instructor for the Gateway School, a private school for students with special needs. Her duties will include managing the social media sites for the Harbor, Alpha, and Gateway schools; and participating in community outreach, among other responsibilities.
Casablanca, a 2002 graduate of Edison High School, N.J., graduated with honors from Maywood University, Scranton, Pennsylvania with a B.S. in elementary and special education. She holds certifications as a teacher of the handicapped and as an elementary teacher, K – 5. She is a member of COBA (Central Ocean Business Association), Toms River, and the Tri-County Chamber of Commerce, South Plainfield.
The Gateway School, 60 High Street, Carteret, is an approved private school for students with disabilities that serves about 60 students, ages 5-21, as part of a network of special education schools that include the Alpha School, Jackson, and the Harbor School, Eatontown. All three schools provide education, therapeutic, and behavioral support for children who have challenges, such as being multiple disabled; cognitively impaired; and have autistic spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, traumatic brain injury; behavioral disorders, or other health impairments. Students come from many New Jersey counties and more than 70 school districts.
Three PrimeTime Centers in Brick, Carteret, and Eatontown offer day habilitation programs with an emphasis on independent living and actual community experiences that are designed for adults with developmental disabilities, over age 21.

RKS Associates, made up of Ruth Reinhard and Jean Stack, prides itself on its leadership in providing for the needs of special education students in its three schools, which focus on a safe, nurturing environment for children with a variety of disabilities. Each school offers a twelve-month program with a wide range of services, including speech, occupational, and physical therapy; counseling; music; computers; physical education; and vocational training.
