“Cooking Matters” – ROOM 202
Ms. Weiss’ young adult class has been piloting a program called “Cooking Matters” for a 6 week period. They are achieving the goals of learning about new affordable snacks, healthy nutrition facts, and practicing kitchen skills. To do this, each week they zoom with an educator from SNAP-Ed (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-NJ) who guides them through the recipe of the day.
The students have tried new foods, making tuna boats, yogurt parfaits, and wraps! In the latest class they made “banana crunch” which they gave a thumbs up! They also made “ants on a log”, but that was not a unanimous thumbs up; it was a split decision 🙂 !
