Gateway School participated in a Hockey Tournament at Tab Ramos in Aberdeen, Matawan against our Sister Schools: The Harbor School & Alpha School on Tuesday, March 20th, 2018.
The Adaptive Physical Education Teachers from all three schools collaboratively made a list of a few selected students who have been working on their gross motor skills, and hockey techniques in their Physical Education class. This tournament was designed to provide the students of all ages (high school, middle school, and elementary school) a chance to be introduced to a new sport, and a chance to build on their social skills.
Learning to play hockey is more than just learning a game. More than running, passing, and stick-handling, hockey is about responsibility, respect, and teamwork! The students will continue to build on these skills to use towards the next tournament- Baseball!
