On Monday, August 13, we will be hosting our annual Alumni Day and end-of-summer Family Picnic at Carteret Park, located on Carteret Avenue, just 8 blocks down from our school building.
Before the picnic, at 9:30 AM, in the Gateway School gym, we are pleased to announce that we will have a special speaker, Ms. Blanche Stetler, who is the Parent Liaison, and a senior administrative team member of the Prime Time Center, the RKS over-21 program. Light refreshments will also be served – bagels and coffee.
We would like to see as many parents as possible attend to learn about the many facets of transitioning from school to adult services. In particular we have invited the parents of our high school students who will be facing this crossroad in the near future. As always we have also invited former students, and their parents, to return to Gateway and share with us their successes and challenges since they have graduated. The presentation, with time for Questions and Answers, should finish up around 11:00 AM, at which time everyone is invited down to Carteret Park to enjoy a cookout of hot dogs and hamburgers.
